RocketJudge offers two options for text-based voting: Text-In Voting and Location-Specific Text-In Voting. Both allow participants to vote for Competitors using text messages, but they differ in how voting eligibility is handled.
1. Text-In Voting
Regular Text-In Voting allows participants to vote for their favorite Competitors by texting their Competitor ID to the phone number assigned to the event.
Organizers configure the voting start and end times, and participants can submit votes during the designated voting period, subject to the event's voting rules.
2. Location-Specific Text-In Voting
Location-Specific Text-In Voting works similarly, but adds a geographic restriction.
Organizers use a map to select the event location and define a voting radius. Votes must meet the configured geographic restrictions to be considered valid.
Which Option Should I Choose?
Choose Text-In Voting if you want participants to vote by text message without restricting voting to a specific geographic area.
Choose Location-Specific Text-In Voting if you want to restrict valid votes to a designated area around your event location.
Both options allow organizers to collect votes through text messages and view the results in RocketJudge.
