Location-Specific Text-In Voting allows participants to vote for their favorite Competitors by text message. Unlike regular Text-In Voting, it restricts valid votes to a specific geographic area around your event.
How Does Location-Specific Text-In Voting Work?
1. Set Up Your Voting Area
Open your event in RocketJudge.
Go to the Text-In Voting tab.
Search for your event address using the map's search bar.
Drag the blue pin to your event's exact location.
Adjust the blue circle to set the area where votes will be considered valid.
Save your settings as prompted.
2. How Do Participants Vote?
Participants text the Competitor ID to the phone number assigned to your event.
Example: If a Competitor's ID is A26, participants text A26 to the assigned phone number.
For a vote to count, it must follow the event's voting rules and meet the location requirements you've configured.
3. Can I Change the Voting Area?
Yes. Organizers can update the event location and voting radius as needed. If voting has already started, you must confirm the changes before proceeding.
When Should I Use Location-Specific Text-In Voting?
Use this option when you want to restrict valid votes to people within a specific geographic area, such as your event venue or a designated event space.
