Judge self-check in is useful if:
Your Competition is virtual, or your Judges are remote/not gathered together in the same physical place
Your Competition is massive or part of a larger event (like a conference) where a check in table is not possible
For in-person events, we generally don't recommend self-check in if possible, because you have the potential for Judges who are not present or won't participate (no shows) being assigned Competitors. This falsely inflates the number of Judge assignments for a Competitor, which compromises your goal of having all Competitors evaluated by the same number of Judges.
