For Event Organizers: How to View Competitor QR Codes

  1. Go to the Competitors tab, click “Print Competitor QR Codes.”

2. You can print the QR codes or save them as a PDF to share digitally.

To view a single competitor's QR code, click on that competitor's name in blue in the list, them click “Print Competitor QR Code.”

For Judges: How to Scan and Add Competitors

  1. Use your own device to scan a competitor’s QR code. You can use a camera app or any QR code scanning app.

  2. When prompted, enter your email address. This must be the same email used to enter you as a judge for the event.

3. A confirmation email will be sent—click “Add Competitor” in the email.

4. You'll be redirected to your ballot with the new competitor added.

5. On future scans, competitors are added automatically—no confirmation needed.

Important Notes

  • This feature is automatically turned on. No actions are needed to enable this feature.

  • If you do not want judges to be able to add competitors via QR code, do not print or display the QR codes in your venue.

  • Judges must enter the same email address used in the event.

  • Competitors can only be added once the event has started.

  • Once assignments have started, a judge can only add a competitor that has not already been assigned.

When to Use This Feature

If you want your judges to freely select the competitors they want to score (or allow them to add additional competitors to their list), print the QR codes and display them in prominent places. We typically see a QR code tag placed near the competitor's entry, whether that's a poster, a prototype, or a dish!
